People Magazine included information about backovers in a special sidebar entitled, “A Preventable Tragedy” with a link to the website. www.KidsAndCars.org
May has been a particularly tragic month for children being hit by vehicles. (backovers and frontovers) During the past 2 weeks, at least 12 children have lost their lives all over the country. There also have been many more incidents where children have been critically injured.

Sixteen-month-old Alec Nelson was killed in 2004 in a tragic accident in his family's driveway. His grandfather was backing the car out, when he failed to see the toddler behind the vehicle.
